For 90 consecutive seasons, a small Catholic high school in Bellaire, Ohio, fielded one of the region's top high school football programs, producing many players who went on to successful college and professional careers.
But the legacy of St. John Central High School and its Fighting Irish football program ended at the close of the 2015 season.
The St. John's program was sown in 1925 when it fielded its first team, which posted a 1-3-1 mark. Some nine decades later, school leaders dropped the curtain on the football program after the 2015 campaign, with the final game being a lopsided loss to Steubenville Central Catholic High School at Harding Stadium in Steubenville.
In between those two forgetful seasons, St. John's football boasted a myriad of great teams, star players, and stellar coaches.
This 128-page book is an in-depth look at the highs and lows that came along with 90 years of Fighting Irish football in Bellaire, Ohio, the "All-American Town."
Inside you'll find team records, game scores, rosters, team photos, game photos, feature photos as well as in-depth feature stories.
This book serves as the complete encyclopedia of a tradition-rich football program that has ceased to exist.
